Van der Poel laat verstek gaan in Junioren Driedaagse

De 17-jarige Mathieu van der Poel heeft op het laatste moment nog afgezegd voor de Internationale Junioren Driedaagse van Axel. Van der Poel zou aanvankelijk namens het Team Ciclismo Mundial vandaag deelnemen aan de etappekoers voor junioren op Zeeuwse bodem, maar de renner uit Kapellen werd op het laatste moment nog geselecteerd door de Nederlandse selectie voor de Trofeo Karlsberg en heeft dus afgezegd.

Johnny Hoogerland begint het wielerseizoen 2012 in Portugal

Johnny_HoogerlandDe Zeeuw Johnny Hoogerland zal in 2012 zijn wielerseizoen starten in Portugal. Daar zal 28-jarige renner deelnemen aan de Volta ao Algarve. Dit heeft Hoogerland in overleg met ploegleider Hilaire van der Schueren besloten tijdens het trainingskamp van de ploeg in het Italiaanse Toscane. Na de Volta ao Algarve volgen Tirreno-Adriatico, Cholet Pays de Loire, Dwars door Vlaanderen, E3-Prijs Vlaanderen Harelbeke en de Ronde van Vlaanderen op het voorlopige programma van Hoogerland. De Yersekenaar zal zich vervolgens in Spanje tijdens de Ronde van het Baskenland voorbereiden op de heuvelklassiekers Brabantse Pijl, Amstel Gold Race en Luik-Bastenaken-Luik.
